Trade dollars work like any balance you already understand. One trade dollar equals one US dollar, spendable only inside the network.

You do not have to figure out where to spend it.
Every member gets a broker. Tell them what you need and they find it in the network. If nobody has it yet, they go recruit the business that does. It is a concierge for your trade dollars, not a directory you have to dig through alone.
